Welcome to the Wellbeing ACADEMY
For over 30 years I have gained experience and knowledge, across the UK, in areas such as business, human resources, and learning & development. In 2006, I founded the charity Headroom, which provided specialist one-to-one counselling for disadvantaged children and young people, working through difficult emotional and psychological issues, for more than 12 years.
I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and have written a series of articles for the BACP Children & Families Journal. My colleague and I deliver an accredited Level 6 training course called 'Children Matter' through our company Essential Training Associates. (www.essentialtraining.associates)
The Wellbeing Academy was established in 2016 and I am delighted to be working with a team of experienced counsellors, psychotherapists, life coaches and trainers. We work with adults, children, young people and organisations providing a range of quality wellbeing programmes and services. We focus on boosting resilience, enhancing emotional wellbeing and promoting positive mental health.
We are passionate about equipping school staff and parents with the knowledge and resources to feel confident
and skilled when helping the children in their care. We also provide professional counselling psychotherapy for
adults working through issues, past and present, that are preventing them from getting the most out of their lives.
We are especially pleased to be partnering with The Resilience Doughnut (www.theresiliencedoughnutuk.com)
adding to our workshop portfolio.
Please contact us if you would like our help or want to find out more.
What are people saying about us?
Counselling gave me a haven where I could openly and honestly face my deepest emotions, anxieties and dreams without fear of judgement, shame or repercussion.
16 year old girl
You have and are being a stepping stone for my 8 year old son, who has been coming here for a few weeks.
His life has been changed in so many ways that are outwith my control and his own, but with your help my little boy is returning.
“I am convinced that their approach has allowed a number of pupils to confront and overcome issues and to then find greater success in school and in life beyond the classroom.” Graham Marshall Headteacher
