Pupil Resilience Programme
We are delighted to be working in partnership with The Resilience Doughnut to bring you an 80% funded, fully-evaluated programme of workshops and training with a focus on building the resilience of your pupils, staff and parents. The Resilience Doughnut is a research-validated tool being used around the world to build the strength of children, adolescents and adults.
The Programme includes:-
Bright Thinking - Intermediate Training for a teacher
One member of staff from your school will receive a half-day training and resources to deliver Bright Thinking in your school permanently. Bright Thinking is a 6-week programme for children aged 8 to 12 years whose anxiety fuels their negative thinking. Venue: Wellbeing Academy office in Dunfermline.
Bright Thinking - Foundation Programme for pupils
A Wellbeing Academy trainer will deliver the first 6-week programme of 1-hour sessions, shadowed by the trained member of staff. After that Bright Thinking can be run anytime by the school without the need for our involvement. It is recommended no more than ten pupils per programme.
Pupil Resilience -Intermediate Training for a teacher
A half-day workshop that is engaging and practical, involving a range of individual, paired and group activities and discussions. This training will give teachers a clear understanding of how we build the emotional resilience of pupils and, through the application of The Resilience Doughnut, a practical tool to apply immediately through their interactions with pupils. Ideal for in-service days.
Resilient Thinking - Intermediate Training for a teacher
This 2-hour module helps teachers explore how the application of The Resilience Doughnut actively promotes resilient thinking in pupils, how to recognise the features of resilient thinking and the common pessimistic thinking traps. We will also introduce the tools to help pupils shift towards more optimistic, resilient thinking. There is a dynamic interaction between the individual and their Resilience Doughnut factors which positively contribute to the internal thinking of I Have, I Am and I Can which, in turn, relates to a more optimistic, resilient thinking.
Raising Resilient Children - Workshops For Parents
These two practical 2-hour workshops to help parents and carers to discover ways to support their children as they grow and change, so that they can face the inevitable difficulties that life brings. We will explore how focusing on their child’s strengths, rather than correcting their weaknesses, can help: build their resilience and optimism; encourage creativity; develop their self-esteem and energy; enhance achievement; and offer better protection from depression and anxiety. For up to 30 parents.
All of the above - £3000
For Primary Schools in Edinburgh and Fife - £567
